'In Control': New Handbook for Personnel Participating in Crisis Management Missions available

Are you getting ready to work for a crisis management mission or already working in the field? This handbook has been produced by the ENTRi network (Europe's New Training Initiative for Civilian Crisis Management) with co-funding from the EU's Instrument for Stability under a project managed by FPI.2.

Titled 'In Control: A Practical Guide for Civilian Experts Working in Crisis Management Missions' the new handbook offers hands-on information and practical advice for everyday life and work in the field as well as background information on crisis management structures in international organisations.

With a foreword by the former Higher representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission, Catherine Ashton, the handbook is designed to accompany civilian experts on their way to crisis management missions. In addition to providing a general overview of the institutional landscape of crisis management as well as relevant concepts, the handbook also provides practical information on a variety of issues that are common to personnel working in an international mission. From dealing with health and security challenges to technical information on radio operation, map reading, and four-wheel driving, the ENTRi 'In Control' handbook is a valuable companion.
