FPI designs and implements projects that work to support peace and security, democracy, human dignity and the rule of law worldwide. Projects also target trade in conflict diamonds and in goods that could be used for capital punishment or torture.

The EU Afghanistan Peace Support Mechanism II (EU APSM II) supported an inclusive peace process in Afghanistan involving local and national level stakeholders. Following the Taliban take-over, the project adjusted to the new context to reflect the need of peace-building support.
