Description
Climate change is the biggest challenge of our times. And it is an opportunity to build a new economic model. With the European Green Deal all 27 EU Member States committed to setting the blueprint for this transformational change and to turning the EU into the first climate neutral continent by 2050.
To get there, Europe is in the process of transforming its energy system, which accounts for 75% of the EU’s greenhouse gas emissions. The EU strategies for energy system integration, offshore renewables and clean hydrogen are crucial for a more efficient and interconnected energy sector, contributing to the twin goal for a cleaner planet and a stronger economy. These strategies develop a new clean energy investment agenda, in line with the Commission’s NextGenerationEU recovery package and the European Green Deal. The planned investments aim to create jobs and boost leadership and competitiveness in strategic industries, which are crucial to Europe’s resilience.
The high level hybrid #EUatExpo workshop will feature the European Green Deal and the road to climate neutrality. The event will present and discuss the policies and technologies under the Green Deal, focusing on:
- The role of hydrogen for the energy transition pathway in the EU.
- The role of innovation in driving the hydrogen agenda
- Policies, technological and business models to facilitate the development renewable hydrogen projects
- International cooperation initiatives for technology transfer and trade.
The event will be a meeting place for European institutions and innovative cleantech companies to share with the international audience their breakthrough technologies, clean energy solutions, and their upcoming initiatives.
