In 2018, the EU holds the rotating Chairmanship of the Kimberley Process, a coalition of governments, civil society and the diamond industry, which is helping to eliminate the trade in so-called conflict diamonds. This year’s plenary meeting of the Kimberley Process takes place in Brussels, Belgium from 12 – 16 November. At the plenary, participants will notably discuss the review and reform agenda, environmental challenges to artisanal and industrial mining.
